Sticking to a Schedule... come what may

Yeah... I don't. If one kid is up, I will generally wake the other up when it is time. I really have to. Our nap schedule (not to mention everything else) really is tied to how they mesh with each other. But if both of my children sleep past 7... 7:30... 8... 8:30 (and are still sleeping as today), I simply thank the Lord we don't have any plans that would make me wake them, and I get something done. I'll just adjust our day to fit them.

I love staying at home.

  1. Well Said! I feel exactly the same way. I was fine "scheduling" my first - but now with my second - it seems that we would be home all day sleeping! It's so hard sometimes. Like right now, I'm supposed to meet a friend at a park in 15 minutes. The older got up 50 minutes ago - the younger went down for his first nap 35 minutes ago...hmmmmm.....

  2. You mentioned on the Preschoolers and Peace website (in the comment box) that you were having a difficult time getting your 2 year old to nap. I have found that having a consistent wake time in the morning is extremely important for naps to go well. If my daughter (one month younger than your son) sleeps in, even a half hour, it makes it very difficult to get her down for her nap; however, if I consistently get her up at 6:00, she consistently goes down for her nap at noon. Perhaps your sons behavior (in and out of bed) is not so much disobedience as it is that he simply is not tired enough to nap because of sleeping in. Just a thought ... I hope it helps.
