The Long Silence

It has been several weeks since my last post. It is hard to believe. I keep peeking back at my blog, sure that I've posted something since that car review. Alas, it's still at the top. How can that be? I really can't tell you. I will say that, though there has been silence on this blog, there has been anything but silence in the real world. I mentioned that we'd been busy back at the end of October... I did work like crazy to get all caught up before we left for Virginia. And I was just about there too. Just a few straggling things undone.

Our time in Virginia was great! Everyone loved us (which helps with the fun) and we were able to take beautiful pictures of everything! I'm hoping to share some of them with you... as well as some of what we learned of the Hindu culture and religion. I had no idea!

In addition to the noise of business and family, is the noise in my head. I am much in need of quieting my heart before our Lord. It is amazing, isn't it, how our lives, moment by moment, are affected when we fail to be still before our Creator! I find that I continue to raise my children "in the admonition of the Lord", but without an example to follow. All I can hope to do in that is teach my young ones hypocrisy.

So why am I here blogging then? When I should be taking a quiet moment of naptime before the Throne??? Basically it's because I cannot count on myself to do it on my own. I have so much to do... so much that is going undone already, and I've fallen into the downward spiral. I've listened to and bought the lie that I just don't have time... and I needed your accountability.

So there you have it... I will now close my browser, turn off my monitor and take a few minutes quietly before the Lord! Is anyone with me on this? Do you need a chance to stand against the lie that you don't have time? Join me... let's take a few moments alone with our Lord!

I completely agree - there is no legitimate excuse to not give God a quiet part of our day. In a society of busy people, we can easily be caught up in this need to always be busy, but it is in those quiet moments with God that we will find the peace and strength to get through each day. Thank you for sharing this and reminding me of this need!
