Potty Training: Day 3

I'm half tempted to give it up and begin new next week (or thereafter). I've gotten some good advice from others of you who have already done this and I agree, I want HIM trained... not me.

We did go on the potty twice yesterday... but I'm sure it's a matter of good timing on mommy's part and not understanding.

Try potty training rewards. IT worked great for our son. He loved pushing the audio push button hearing he is a Big Boy and opening a door to find a chocolate surprise. He really became involved. He was peeing and pooping in his potty within a week. Have a look and see if this would work for you. www.pottytrainingrewards.com

Hi! I am also potty training right now and it is tough! Iza is doing really good with Pee Pees but she dosen't want to do number 2 there and she wakes up after she has peed at night, so I guess that is a start. She drinks so much water before bed and wakes up for it, so I really need to work on cutting that out. I use gummy bears as a reward. She really loves those gerber graduate freeze dried fruits and I kind of wish I had used those as a reward instead but oh well, it would be hard to switch now. Another thing that helps is I take her to the potty a lot, every 15 minutes after she drinks I take and we try.

I am sure little boys are a lot different. Maybe he could try to aim for a toy or leaf in the toilet? I know that sounds horrible but that is how my mom had to train my brother years ago.

Wishing you lot of luck.
PS I focused first on getting her to go at least once a day and she got lots of praise... then gradually she has gone more...

I also tell her the characters on her pull up don't like to get wet. They like to stay dry. She seems to like keeping them dry and not upseting them.

Thank you for the wishes! I forgot I cut the gummies in half because I worry about Iza choking on a whole piece. I am thinking about looking at other gerber treats today to see if one may look like candy but be healthier.

In my experience, when they are really ready, potty training comes fast and easy!

Also, in my experience, we've found it best to potty train for day and night at the same time. That's not to say, the minute you begin potty training, you drop the diapers at night, but it DOES goes along with it. If you use undies during the day and rely on diapers at night, it is harder to later give them up.
